'Argentine Superhero' is charged with gun possession

'Menganno' was indicted after disclosing that chased bandits shot.

"Menganno", a kind of Argentine superhero who intended to fight crime on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, was indicted for possession of weapons after having reported that chased the alleged delinquents shots during a criminal act, police said.


With a shield and a visual similar to that of Captain America comes Menganno motorcycle patrolling the streets of the eastern town of Lanús, in the Greater Buenos Aires, for over a year and giving citizens advice. He does not reveal his identity

The character was known in the Argentine media in 2010 when it began to circulate the masked and uniformed streets as if it were a kind of Batman or Captain America Buenos Aires.

It was later revealed that it was Oscar Lefosse, 43, a former officer of the Federal Police (PF), whose firearms had expired a year ago.


With a shield and a visual similar to that of Captain America comes Menganno motorcycle patrol neighborhood streets for a year and giving citizens advice. He is 41 years old, does not reveal his identity and has to website and community on Facebook.

"Menganno" reported on Monday that three criminals tried to rob him while he was with his wife in the car and said he defended himself by shooting with his Glock .40 caliber pistol, in response to an alleged attack on shots.

Facebook, which is presented as "Menganno, your superhero" and has more than 33,000 followers, the former police officer posted a photo of your car pierced by a bullet.

"I'm not crazy, I feel protected by my good deeds," he explains.

But the police said that all the bullet holes originated from inside the car and, therefore, the former police officer could have killed an innocent.

 "Menganno" described himself as "a real superhero, of flesh and blood." He assured then only carry a flashlight, a compass and a pepper spray for their own safety
